Discourse over State Revenue Agency Establishment to Boost Tax Ratio

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — The plan to establish a state revenue agency has resurfaced after some time. President Prabowo Subianto revived the agenda by recently appointing former Director General of Taxation Hadi Poernomo as Special Advisor to the President for State Revenue.

However, without fundamental reforms to the tax system, the establishment of a state revenue agency alone will not be enough to boost Indonesia’s tax ratio.
