SOE Dividends to State Coffers in Jokowi's Decade

Dividends paid by SOEs to the state’s coffers reached an all-time high following the pandemic as officials expressed optimism about future figures.

Bisnis, JAKARTA — Dividends from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) during President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration since 2014 have seen notable ups and downs, with a sharp decline during the pandemic, and then rebounding to reach an all-time high.
Back in 2014, SOE dividends amounted to IDR 40.31 trillion and then dipped to IDR 37.64 trillion in the following year. Dividends then hovered between IDR 37 trillion and IDR 50 trillion during Jokowi’s first term between 2014 and 2019.
SOE dividends began to fluctuate in Jokowi’s second term, as state revenue from asset management saw its lowest growth in 2021, contracting by 53.8 percent.
