Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — The Trump Tariff on Indonesian goods may weigh heavily on the country’s balance of payments, posing long-term risks to the rupiah’s fundamentals.

The US remains Jakarta’s top source of foreign exchange, with bilateral trade delivering a surplus of $16.8 billion in fiscal year 2024. However, US President Donald Trump announced his decision to impose 32% as reciprocal tariffs to Indonesia.
