Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Repeated setbacks at PT Freeport Indonesia’s copper smelters have brought export permit for copper concentrate back on the table, the matter now pending only government approval.
Freeport Indonesia has been facing recurring problems with its smelter facilities over the past 12 months. Last year, a fire incident delayed the operation of its new smelter at the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE), Gresik, East Java.
