Ride-Hailing Companies Oppose Change in Drivers’ Status to Permanent Employees

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Four ride hailing companies have rejected the proposal to change drivers’ status from independent partners to full-time employees.

Ryan Rwanda, business director at Indrive Indonesia, said the change could significantly cut the number of drivers. He claimed to have engaged in discussions with driver partners over the past few months over the status switch, and revealed that none of the active drivers actually supported the change.
