Govt Prepares For 2025 Rice Procurement, Food Self Sufficiency Program

Bisnis, JAKARTA — State food public company Perum Bulog is setting up for domestic rice procurement following the government’s decision to slash staple food imports starting this year, as policymakers reaffirm focus on food self-sufficiency and local production.

Mokhamad Suyamto, Bulog’s supply chain and public services director, said rice procurement is expected to begin in late February or early March.
